Planning for the future should be a continuous process. As various internal and external factors change, the Organization may need to adjust its strategic objectives. The strategic planning process will identify the specific activities that will help advance the Organization’s mission. Involving the Board, staff and other key stakeholders in the strategic planning process, will assure a high level of commitment to the implementation of strategic objectives and to the measurable goals.

Keeping that in mind, the “strategic plan” will always identify where the Organization wants to be in the future (vision) and how it will accomplish it. The strategic planning process involves the creation of all processes that will help the Organization accomplish its vision. It requires the development of strategic goals and objectives and the Board decisions that are necessary to accomplish the strategic vision.
